My Polar H7 or other Bluetooth Low Energy Heart Rate Monitor will not pair. What should I do?

If you are having issues pairing or are getting inaccurate readings, try the following troubleshooting steps:
      • Is Your Phone BLE Compatible: Please view the Compatibility Page
      • Delete the sensor (if already paired): in the app (Sensors - tap on the sensor - tap on delete), and re-pair the sensor. Also, if the sensor is paired in the native bluetooth area of the device, it needs to have that pairing deleted as well.
      • Reset Bluetooth: Try going to your Settings->Bluetooth, turn Bluetooth OFF, wait for about 30 seconds, and turn it back on.
      • Wet the Electrodes (chest straps): Make sure the contact strips (electrodes) on either side of the heartbeat pod / transmitter are wet with water, saliva, or gel to increase connectivity.  Please note the HRM must be properly placed ON YOUR BODY to send a signal and connect.
      • Clean your HRM (chest straps): It is recommended to clean your HRM strap after almost every use. Rinse the strap under running water after every use and hang to dry. Clean the strap gently with a mild soap and water solution when needed. Do not use moisturizing soaps, because they can leave residue on the strap. Failure to do so will resort in inaccurate readings.
      • Manually Close Your App: Exit the app and then double tap the iPhone home button. All open apps will display on your screen. Swipe up on Digifit to close. Relaunch the app and try pairing again.
      • Change Batteries : Make sure your belt's battery level is not low. If in doubt, try changing the battery to see if it fixes the problem).
      • Is Your HRM Paired With Another Device : Make sure no other phone or device is currently connected and communicating with your BLE heart rate monitor. If the heart rate monitor is paired with another iPhone, you will not be able to use the HRM
      • Close All Other Apps Paired With Your HRM: If there are any other apps on your phone that are communicating with your BLE heart rate monitor, terminate them. The HRM will only be able to pair with one fitness app at a time.
      • Power Down Your iPhone: If none of the above steps resolve your issue, power down your iPhone and then turn it back on.
      • Discharge your sensor:  Remove and Discharge the sensor completely. Just removing the battery is not enough. Mount the sensor without battery onto the belt to completely discharge and reset the sensor. After putting the battery back into the sensor, it should pair immediately.
      • Try another of our Apps: we do multiple apps that all share backend and are very close in functionality - iCardio, iRunner and iBiker. Currently iCardio is version 8 while iRunner / iBiker is 7.80. If one isn't working, try another, maybe even a different version. Any purchases and account information will sync down after login.
